We offer a range of services for existing memorials.   No job is too small.

RENOVATION AND REPAIR INFORMATION

Granite, Marble, Stone and Slate are natural materials and, as such, memorials crafted from these materials may become discoloured with lichen or dirt when weather, time and environmental elements take their toll.  We specialize in memorial renovations, be it churchyard or cemetery memorials.  Renovation of your lawn memorial is undertaken at our workshop and our cleaning methods do not involve using harmful chemicals but have outstanding results, bringing the masonry back, as close as possible, to its original, respectful condition.  Your memorial will then be returned to the cemetery or churchyard and it will be re-erected in compliance with current Health and Safety requirements, cemetery/churchyard regulations and the NAMM Code of Working Practice.  A new reinforced pre-cast concrete foundation plinth (or where applicable reinforced wet-mix foundation) and NAMM approved ground anchor are supplied and installed where necessary.

before & after

Please be aware, however, that in some very rare cases renovation may not be possible if the condition of the material is very poor.  Also, some staining, for example rust, can be invasive and therefore complete removal cannot be guaranteed.

ADDITIONAL INSCRIPTIONS

Additional inscriptions can be added to an existing memorial, with costs based upon the lettering type and the number of letters.  Any additional lettering required will match your existing inscription as closely as possible, regardless of the original method.  Memorials with lettering in a very poor condition can be
re-faced and re-cut.  We undertake all methods of lettering including cut and gilded; cut, drilled and leaded; cut and enamel painted and raised lead.

RE-GILD; RE-LEAD AND RE-PAINT

We undertake restoration of existing lettering where perhaps, deterioration, due to age or environment, has taken its toll.  The cost for this type of work will depend on the lettering type and the number of letters in the inscription.

RE-FIXING MEMORIALS

We can re-fix memorials that have become unstable and this work is undertaken in compliance with current Health and Safety requirements, cemetery/churchyard regulations and the NAMM Code of Working Practice.  A new reinforced pre-cast concrete foundation plinth (or where applicable reinforced wet-mix foundation) and ground anchor are supplied and installed where necessary.  The cost to re-fix a memorial is dependent on its size.

Please contact our office to arrange for a free, no obligation itemized estimate for any of the services detailed above.   To enable us to complete a survey please supply us with the name of the cemetery/churchyard; the name(s) that are currently on the memorial and the grave number.
